“ I read about this seafood restaurant thru Yelp and wanted to try it out. Multiple seafood choices to select. My plate came with choice of two sides. I ordered fried oysters with slaw and french fries and come with hush puppies. Order at counter and when ready the beeper they give you beeps and flashes. Device rated PG! Loved the oysters cooked to perfection. If a seafood lover they have a varied selection. In same building there is a seafood market. Very good experience. ”
“ My friend has been wanting me to check out her aunt's restaurant, and we finally did--and wow, it did not disappoint! The service was excellent, warm, and welcoming. We had whiting, greens, yams, slaw, and hush puppies, and every bite was absolutely delicious, full of rich, homemade flavors. The atmosphere was just right, with soothing melodies creating the perfect dining experience, and the restaurant was spotless. We were just passing through and originally planned to take our food to go, but we decided to dine in and ended up savoring it all for over an hour. To top it off, we met the owner, who was so welcoming and made us feel right at home. This spot is highly recommended for and will definitely be a stopping point for future trips! ”
“ Forsyth Seafood Market and Café has existed in Winston-Salem for as long as I can remember. Its delicious southern fried fish and hushpuppies were a regular order for my family whenever we visited from out of town. Over the years, the location has changed, and the business has expanded to offer cooked and fresh seafood options while being a beacon of light in the community. The current location is at Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd., conveniently near the highway. It is organized so that you can enter one side for the fresh fish market and one side for the Café restaurant to order pick-up or have your meal there. Both sides are kept clean, and the ambiance is peaceful, although there is usually a steady flow of customers and work. The food is delicious, so employees stay busy, but they are always polite and quick to fix any issues with an order. You can conveniently order online and call ahead, and they are also listed on DoorDash, etc. Forsyth Seafood Market and Café also has a catering truck, although I have not used that service. I would recommend them, knowing the business they have been and continue to be in the community and the product quality that has not failed in over 40 years of delivering to the Triad. ”
“ My friend and I were visiting NC due to a friend's mom passing and was told that we need to stop by this restaurant. Seafood is one of my absolute favorites and if I can get it, I will. When I tell you we walked in on a big secret and that is to get yourself in there before 12:00 pm on a Friday b/c when I tell you that as soon as I placed my order, within minutes there was a line. I got the flounder sandwich and made it a meal. I was such a happy camper. It was soooooooooooo good. 2 nice size pieces. Worth the money and if I ever come back to NC, I know where my first stop is going to be. Even though we choose to sit outside and eat, there is plenty of inside seating. The other side is where you could go to get fish which is so cool. You may just want to cook it yourself and here you have the option. ”
“ Excellent food and service every time. Magen took our order and then followed up with us in the dining room to make sure we had what we needed. Seeing Mrs. Hardesty or Ashley is always a treat. They are the best! ”
“ Walk up order the young man at the counter was knowledgeable of the menu. The Cafe was clean the service friendly. When I am up this way I usually swing by this Forsyth seafood for a fresh delicious seafood meal. I got the 3 combo 2 fresh flounder nicely golden fried, pups , nc. coleslaw, and greens. And a soda ”
“ I LOVE Forsyth Seafood and I always forget how amazing it is. I've only been here a handful of times but each time I tell myself I need to make this a regular seafood destination. The staff is always super friendly and this time was no exception. It was a Friday evening and I fully expected them to be busy. The dining room was not crowded but they had a steady stream of customers in the market side and restaurant side the whole time I was there. I browsed the digital menu and decided what I wanted but as soon as I got to the counter to order I saw a whole snapper special and immediately changed my mind. Everything is of course cooked to order so it was a little wait but not too bad at all. When my order was done I was so happy I got the snapper. It was so perfectly fried and seasoned! Moist and tender with a mild flavor that was addictive. Both my husband and I agreed this was the best seafood we've had in a while. It was also such a big portion I couldn't finish it. Thank goodness my husband was there to help me finish it. I highly recommend trying this if you see it offered. The ambiance is very casual and kind of cafeteria like. You have your basic table and chairs but decor isn't important when the seafood is this good. Just sit anywhere and wait for your delicious seafood to be ready. ”
“ Good spot for fried seafood. I came here with coworkers earlier in the week for the first time, I had been wanting to try it for awhile being new to the area. I ordered the pick two combo- popcorn shrimp and fried clams with a cup of seafood gumbo and mac and cheese. The shrimp and clams were great, mac and cheese was okay, nothing spectacular. But I appreciated the variety of sauces available- tartar, cocktail, hot sauce, ketchup. A little surprised they didn't offer tap water, said we would have to buy a bottle, so I just got my water bottle from the car. Service was friendly but a bit slow, it took over 20 mins for us to get our food after ordering and it didn't seem too crowded/busy at the time. A bit pricey for lunch, but it is seafood. Overall, I'd recommend going if you're craving some fried goodness. ”
“ The best whole fried flounder in NC!! Yeahhhh, give it up for Forsyth Seafood Market & Cafe. I have been drooling on my phone for years about eating here and I finally got the opportunity. The flounder was the best thing on the plate. I had hiccups with my baked potato being bad. I sent it back 3 times and each time, it was the same. When I opened it up, it looked like potato flakes for instant mashed potatoes. I have no idea what would make a baked potato appear that way, but I know it was not normal, and was not going to eat it. I eventually ended up with mac and cheese in a one ounce condiment cup to replace my baked potato. I can say, I came for the fish and not the sides. The reason I gave it 4 stars! That fish was amazing! I can do without the chili pepper flakes added on top though! I'll be back soon!! Wish we had this in Greensboro! Also, I joked with my friend that I was disappointed that I did not get the "whole fish" because its head was missing. I love the head being on my fish! Some of the best tastings! ”
“ This place is a diamond in the rough! The ambient characteristics are pretty on par with a "fish joint," but the food is so, so, so, SO good. I had the flounder dinner (broiled) with slaw and gumbo as my sides. My only regret is that I didn't place a separate order for a larger portion of gumbo! Can't wait to go back! ”
